Houselights One

A robot that cleans cinemas overnight.

It climbs the steps, sweeps under every seat and sorts what it picks up.

Simulation. Figures are design targets. Deploying in 2027.

01 Climb

It climbs steps.

The front flippers ride onto the step. The rear flippers then lift the tail, so the body crosses level and does not slam down.

02 Between the rows

It drives between the rows.

It is 360 mm wide, so it fits tight rows. A brush roll sweeps debris into a hopper, so whole popcorn and wrappers go in with no hose to block. The red band is floor already covered.

03 Under every seat

It tips each seat up and sweeps under it.

The arm lifts the cushion. The sweeper head slides out sideways, turns along the row and goes in to the back of the step. The arm takes out anything too big for the brush.

04 Pick up and sort

The arm picks up the big things.

Bottles and cans go to recycling. Cups, tubs and bags go in the hopper.

Reach
890 mm
Arm lifts
1.5 kg per item

05 Lost property

It keeps lost property.

Phones, wallets, keys and glasses go in a locked tray, logged with the seat, the time and a photo.

06 Report

It reports spills.

It does not mop. It marks the spill, crosses it with the head lifted, and lists the seat for your staff.

07 Other seating

It cleans under common cinema seats.

Only tip-up seats need lifting; the head goes in beneath sofas, rockers, armchairs and recliners as they stand. Footstools go on the seats at closing.

Seat types
tip-up, rocker, armchair, recliner, sofa

08 Working together

Units can share a screen.

Add more for a bigger room or a shorter night. They split the rows between them, then drive to the next screen or back to the dock. How it gets through doors depends on the cinema; we work that out with each site.

The night clean

What the night clean costs you.

The full clean happens after the last film: every row, under every seat. It is the hardest shift to staff.

Put your numbers in.

2,160 seats a night
30 staff-hours a night, 10,950 a year
3 units to do it in the same hours

Assumes 150 seats per unit per hour. One person stays on site to mop reported spills.
